Senior Coordinator  (22.5 hours/week)

Macedon Ranges Further Education Centre is looking for a dynamic Senior Coordinator to lead a small team committed to supporting its local community, in developing and managing our vital Community and Further Education Centre based in Macedon Ranges, Gisborne.

The Senior Coordinator is responsible to the Committee of Management to advance the organisation’s vision and missions as well as play a lead role in the operational activities and development of the Centre.
The Senior Coordinator will work with local networks and stakeholders to establish and coordinate relevant groups and programs and to further encourage community participation.


Key features of the role include:
•Support the operations of MRFEC, through the provision and sustainable development of programs and activities within the Centre, and partnerships to enhance community engagement.
•Liaise with Neighbourhood House Victoria, Local Government, and other community organisations to share knowledge and resources and form partnerships where appropriate.
•Identify funding opportunities and submission writing.


About you:
We are looking for someone with:
•Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in a not-for-profit organisation or a related discipline.
•Strong skills and proven ability to effectively lead staff and volunteers.
•Strong knowledge of community development principles and practices and a commitment to social justice and building community capacity and wellbeing.
•Advanced skills to identify and cultivate external partnership opportunities that are aligned with the strategic objectives of the Centre.
•Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
•Demonstrated ability to network and build strong working relationships with other community groups and stakeholders.
•Strong financial and budgeting skills.
•Ability to write submissions, secure funding and monitor acquittal.


Classification: NHACE Agreement 2016, Schedule 3A Level 8.1
Hours: Permanent part-time, 22.5 hours per week (working days can be negotiated)

Become a Tutor

We are looking for talented tutors who have a rich practical experience in one or more areas of interest to the broader community. You need to be able to structure courses and be able to impart your skills and knowledge to adult learners.
A formal qualification for most courses is not required.

Currently, we are looking for;

  • Art tutors, especially evening classes

  • Sewing tutor

  • One-off or short courses run over half a day/ full day or no more than 3 sessions.

  • Any other suggestions where you feel there is community interest.

The variety of training we offer depends on the constant flow of new ideas, new approaches and new people.
